Mr Jefferies was one of nicest person I had the pleasure to know at Arcadia high School. Upstanding man and good trumpet and piano playing.

Mr Jeffries was my band teacher in Gilbert, AZ back in the 1950s. He was a great teacher and it was fun being in his class. Always had a smile even when we hit the wrong notes. So sorry to hear about his passing. My deepest sympathies.

Jeff, you have been a great father-in-law and grandfather. Your love of music helped encourage Shea to learn to love music too and her violin skills thrived knowing her grandpa would be happy. Your laugh was something I always enjoyed and will miss. This candle will light your way and remind me of your friendship.

dear Na,
Jeff was such an important professional in the Phoenix jazz community, and will be remembered for a long time by so many. My daughter, Suzanne McElfresh, credits him for her Scottsdale High School jazz education, which led to her bookings at Chuy's in Tempe and other gigs while she was an ASU student. I also remember his important role as co-director with Barry Black of Young Sounds of Arizona in the 1970s. My deepest heart-felt sympathy to you and your family.

I was so fond of him and Naoma when he taught music in Gilbert, AZ. I was heart broken when he left. I still play the drums occasionally. I'm sure he will be missed dearly. He was a wonderful person.
