William Cunningham Obituary
Phoenix - William "Bill" Robert Cunningham passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at his residence in Phoenix Arizona surrounded by his devoted wife of 23 years, Bernie, and his family. Bill was born on September 28, 1930 to Ethel May and Herman Cunningham at the first St Joe's Hospital in Phoenix. Bill is predeceased by his parents, his first loving wife of 42 years, Willa Jo Ann "Jo" Cunningham, his sister Elizabeth "Liz" Faye and his great-grandson Jacob.
Bill lived a wonderful and full life with his large family. With Jo, his children are, Pamela Lillyblad (Jack), Michael Cunningham (Harumi) and William "Bob" Cunningham Jr, 9 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Bill's family expanded when he married Bernie with her 4 children; Judith (decd), Joseph (decd) Jennifer and Jacqueline and 4 grandchildren.
Bill retired as an Allstate Insurance Agent in 1997, receiving many awards during his career. Bill not only worked hard during his life and varied careers to better himself and provide for his family, he also understood the value of giving back. He volunteered at his local John C Lincoln hospital for many years and received a certification in 2019 as a Medallion Member of Civitan International for 60 years of dedicated service for the Civitan Foundation of AZ. He was very active throughout life enjoying a multitude of activities such as traveling to Europe, RVing extensively throughout the USA and North America, photography, hiking, watersports and spending time in Strawberry, AZ at the "cabin". Bill was very outgoing, said "Hi" to everyone and would talk to anyone, everywhere he went, sharing a joke or regaling others of his life stories. Bill's positive outlook on life and his desire to always righting any slight he believed he may have made, attracted so many to him and many will miss him.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at St. Paul's Catholic Church 11am, viewing at the church prior to Mass at 10am and internment will be at St. Francis Cemetery following Mass. Please visit hansenmortuary.com for online condolences.

Bernie, I am sorry to learn of your husband's death. I am glad that you and Bill had 23 wonderful years together. It was nice having you as a neighbor so many years ago. I am sorry that we lost touch. May many happy memories ease the pain from losing Bill.
