William Podrouzek Obituary

Podrouzek, William James
Born in Omaha, Nebraska, August 26, 1921, died peacefully at home in Sun Lakes, Arizona on April 28, with his wife of 50 years, Jackie, at his side. As a young boy, Bill lived in Omaha with his two brothers, Walter and Edward. After high school, he went to Texas Christian University and from there he enlisted in the navy, eventually retiring as Lieutenant Commander. Bill met and married Jackie in California and married in February, 1961. Bill's son, William Jr., lives in California. Jackie's son, John, whom Bill helped raise as his own, lives in Delaware with his family. Following his retirement from the navy, Bill and Jackie returned to Omaha, where Bill operated a financial services and accounting company, until they formally retired and moved to Sun Lakes, Arizona. Bill was a life-long Nebraska football fan and an avid golfer. He enjoyed friends, cocktails and animated political discussions. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Podrouzek, a son (Bill Parrish), a step-son (John Elliott), grandchildren Chris, Kyle, Kate, Lindsay, and Jay and three great-grandchildren, Austin, Ryleigh and Grant. Bill did not wish a service; in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a local hospice. Jackie will reside in Arizona for a few weeks before moving to Delaware to be near family.
