Winona Davis Obituary
Winona "Nonie" Davis, 95, of Gilbert, passed away the morning of October 6, 2010 at Odyssey Hospice in Mesa, AZ. Nonie was born January 19, 1915 in Chandler, AZ, the daughter of Gustav and Jenny (Swanson) Carlson. She graduated from Chandler High School, attended ASU and was a member of P.E.O. She married William P. "Dub" Davis in 1941. Nonie dedicated her life to her family and she loved gardening and traveling. Survivors include her son, Gary of Gilbert; daughters, Karen (Terry) Sloan of Prescott Valley and Linda (Rich) Podvin of Gilbert and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Dub in 1992, her parents, two sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, October 12th at Messinger Mortuary Chapel, 7601 E. Indian School Road with a visitation one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association 1028 E. McDowell Road, Phoenix, AZ 85006.

I'm back in town after vacation and I heard of Mrs Davis' passing. I'll miss working with her very much. She always had a beautiful smile and was fun to be with. My heartfelt condolences to you, Karen, Linda and Gary.
