Xavier Kilby Obituary

Xavier Albert Joseph Kilby

Xavier Albert Joseph Kilby, 35 a beloved son, brother, uncle and father tragically passed away on May 17, 2021, in Dickinson, North Dakota. Xavier was born on November 13, 1985, in Mesa, Arizona to Bruce and Lupe Kilby. He grew up in Tempe, Arizona, attending Desert Vista High School where he competed in two 5A state championships. After graduating from high school in 2004, Xavier took his amazing basketball talent to a collegiate level.

In 2012 Xavier embarked on a new journey with starting a career in the oil industry. He soon settled in Dickinson, North Dakota where he found success in work, moving up in positions and then finally to a site manager. Here in Dickinson Xavier met Lacy Nielsen and her son Laysen. Soon after meeting, Xavier and Lacy started a family of their own where they would share three beautiful children: Kree, Xavier Jr. and Zakai Kilby.

Xavier was big kid at heart. He loved his family, basketball, dogs, movies, music, history, Disney and of course food. Xavier had an extreme curiosity for how things worked. These endless conversations both in person and over the phone will extremely be missed. "X", what we liked to call him, was our gentle giant. His kind heart, infectious smile, contagious laughter, unique voice, and comforting stature will forever leave an impression on our hearts that will constantly be yearned for.

Xavier's love and memories will forever be cherished by his devoted parents; Bruce Kilby (Hiroko) and Lupe Kilby; his precious children; Kree Kilby, Xavier Jr. Kilby and Zakai Kilby; his amorous siblings; Nikole Beard (Don), Bruce Kilby (Alice), Tonia Milona (Chris), Guadalupe Kilby (Russ), and Zackary Kilby; his adoring nieces and nephews; Chandi Norton (Josh), Bruce Kilby Jr., Scot Leith Jr., Isaiah Kilby, Samiyah Leith (Markel), Camden Leith, Maxwell Anderson, Amiyah Milona, Jizelle Milona, Niko Milona, Hoak Ginther, Zackary Kilby Jr. and Rylee Kilby; Great niece and nephew Sophiah Leith and Josh Norton Jr; Uncle and Aunts; Kraig Kilby (Laurel), Mary Rita Cruz, Alice Cruz, Veronica Cruz (Sam); Great Aunts Juanita Brandon and Gloria Williams; Cousins; Anika Saran, Troy Jones, Todd Jones, Tina Cruz, Renee Cruz-Celaya and Arsenio Cruz; Preceded by Grandparents; Albert and Ruth Kilby, Augustine and Rita Cruz.

Upon meeting Xavier, I felt a warm and gentle kindness about him. He was funny at Tonia & Chris´s wedding. I´m so glad that I was able to meet such a caring young man. May he rest as the right hand of god to watch over his family
