Joe Cortez, 88, passed away in Flagstaff, AZ, on April 16, 2017. Joe was born on January 26, 1929 in Williams, AZ. He was married to Connie (Mesa) Cortez for 59 years, but together for 62 years. Connie passed away in 2013.
Joe is survived by his children Gary, Joe, Tommy, Lynda, and Joe, 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and 5 siblings. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Bonnie Jo and Anna Maria, 1 grandson Leo, his parents and 5 siblings.
For 31 years Joe worked for the city of Santa Cruz in California and retired in 1989 and moved back to Flagstaff after the 1989 earthquake.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Lozano's Flagstaff Mortuary. A graveside service will be on Friday, April 21st at 1:00 pm at Citizens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lozano's Flagstaff Mortuary, www.FlagstaffMortuary.com.
