You were a good friend and advisor to me. You helped me when I was on the road. You helped me when I had issues with gear a long way from my home base. You supported and contributed to my music, my writing,......
and you were my friend. I will miss you. Til' we meet again, Brother!

Richard was a true friend, a great musician and wonderful human being. I will always remember cruzin' main street in his green Mustang 2+2 in Guymon back in the day. The numerous bands we played in together, including the Beaver Express. What wonderful memories! Saw him in Oceanside with Poco while he was touring with them. More recently on a road trip to the Grand Canyon a few years ago I visited with him at his music store in Flagstaff. Thanks Richard for being a great friend and may you rest in peace brother!

After the death of Rusty Young of Poco, I talked to Richard about his time in Poco and I also remember him playing in Tulsa with Mark Bruner and Bluestreak in the 80s. A great player, a nice guy and RIP my brother. I´ll see you in the other side. Matt Kohl

Richard,
I was floored by the news of your passing. I could never say the words to say how I felt about you as a long time friend. The memories I had playing music with you in The Beaver Express are very vivid. You were the warm, positive human being everyone says you were.

Richard will be missed greatly but he has made a wonderful imprint on the world. My first memory with Richard is meeting every morning to walk to school together at Academy Grade School in Guymon. I always looked forward getting together because Richard we shared views and he generously shared his views and thoughts on fascinating topics and we would get lost in conversation and lose track of time. Love you Richard! My best regards to Richard´s family.

Richard and I started playing music in his grandparents basement while living in Straight Ok. We had so much fun playing with the Beaver Express for several years. I will miss him, God bless you Rich, I´m glad you´re feeling no pain.

Already missing this incredible cousin of mine. He had an undeniable light and set a standard I aspire to! I learned so much from him, even in his last days, he just repeatedly said "I just want to do the best I can with the time I have left" and he never missed an opportunity to say "I love you!". There aren't many people in this world like him and we need it so badly! Rich I love you and Thank You for the reminder of how we should live life!

I heard the sad news late today. What a guy! What an amazing musician! Rich you always had a smile and kind word for me whenever we crossed paths. It was an honor to know you. I imagine a great many people you knew are sad today, but very happy they got the chance to know you. You resonate still in our hearts - play on brother, play on.
