Steve Reynolds Obituary

Steve Reynolds

June 29 1948 – November 12 2014

Steve Reynolds was born in Iowa City, IA and grew up in Minneapolis and the suburbs of Chicago where he started learning the guitar. He did his undergraduate studies at Michigan State University in East Lansing MI, where he began to perform professionally. His musical pursuits took him to Austin, Denver, Tucson, L.A., Hattiesburg MS and ultimately to Flagstaff. A talented and popular guitarist/singer/songwriter, Steve was known throughout the Southwest, winning the Telluride Acoustic Blues Competition in 2003 and recording four CD's. Steve was also a world traveler, an avid cyclist, a Canyon hiker and Colorado River runner. He touched many souls with his beautiful music and his indomitable spirit, and he is greatly missed.

Steve is survived by his mother, Emma Reynolds, and his brothers, Stu (Pam) and Doug (Sharon) of northern California. Steve's friends and loved ones are invited to attend a memorial gathering Sunday April 12th at 1:00PM at Thornager's, 2640 West Kiltie Lane in Flagstaff.

A true friend, fellow diver and the person who taught me how to play the guitar, Steve was upbeat and never short of smiles and laughter. We all miss him.
