Brent&Nick are my step-brothers.I can't even begin to say how broken our hearts are here in Hawai'i. Nick is going to pull himself up and carry on loving Brent. Growing up, Brent was the 'good one' out of all us kids. Younger, yet was left in charge to watch over us. He blackmailed us and extorted allowance $$ to keep secrets. He was quick to respond and put us back in check. He humbled me greatly. I saw him last when his dad passed on & still, he was making us laugh, being 'Brent'...i love u Brentie.
Jesus- Bless the ohana and be present in hearts as they heal...Amen

Brent,I am glad for the way that you have touched my life and so many others. You had such an outpouring of people with love and care and great stories of you. As small and big as Bakersfield is you had quite an impact on it. Your way of cheering people up with your quick-witty, funny remarks & quirky sense of humor will surely and is being missed. In knowing you over the years it was always nice to listen to the life lessons and wisdom that you gained throughout all your life experiences. I pray that you are at peace and watching out for all of us down here. You were truly a wonderful, caring person, bartender, father, son, brother, husband and friend. We all miss you very much. Take care Brent.

Brent, I can't believe you are gone. I met you through Kiwanis. We lost touch due to family, you raising yours and me raising mine. On occasion we would bump into each other at Babies R Us. Wish we would have stayed in contact more. You were always so nice and kind to everyone. You will be truly missed.

I remember growing up with Brent, he was always kind-hearted, caring, and giving. We were the most alike cousins of our family; quiet, extremely intellegent, and content. I will miss you so much, Brent, and I know I can speak for Beau and Ashley when I say they were very proud of your accomplishments, and they loved you very much. We will all miss you more than anyone could ever imagine.

This world has truly lost a beautiful soul. Brent I met you back in 2001 and from the first day you were a genuine, funny, charasmatic, friend.
I pray for you daughters and your wife.
You made a great impact on me in my talks with you about my daughter and the situation with her father. You were wise beyond your years and no matter your size never affraid to say what was on your mind. I love you and miss you my friend.

Reading comments from Brent's friends are really touching... It is wonderful to see that as an adult he still had all the qualities I loved in him when he was growing up. I think his great sense of humor came from his mom..... my sister.

We love you Brent.

I used to make fun of him because before i knew he worked at the mint i used to call him a stripper.. lol He would come in and buy the same stuff with a huge stack of ones lol... Ill never forget this guy. He was funny and could take a joke, if he couldnt he would have punched me on numerous occasions. Didnt get to know u as well as others but you will be missed bro.

If you were feeling down then all you would need to do is be around Brent. He always put me in the happiest mood. He was truly an amazing person. I will never forget the times that our crew shared, Cathy, Batman, all the bouncers and bartenders. We had great times. Brent always being the one to make everyone laugh. His smile could light up a room. He was truly beautiful...inside and out.

Brent take care of your self up there and remember us down here. Because I will remember you has I meet you casually thru my friends Tony and Joseph. Who I would meet at the Mint to socialize and catch-up on life. You had a talent to make people feel welcome in your surrounding. That is what I like about you. I seen you Saturday 9-12-09 I asked you if you remember my name and you said, yes Ramon. Brent Take Care. We will all well miss you.

Brent was one of the best bartenders I've ever met. He was always happy, chipper and had a smile on his face. We had a connection to where we didn't even have to talk for him to know what I wanted. That Monday night was the first time he said my name to me, when he told me to have faith in another bartender making my margarita. I wish I had gotten to know you better on the other side of the bar. I'll miss the pepper in my margarita. You will be missed. The mint will never be the same without you. Rest in peace.

I, like many others, also always admired and appreciated Brent's friendly disposition behind the bar. It was only until very recently, on a whim and a few cocktails, that I finally decided to crawl out of my shell and tell this nice guy what I had thought of him for quite some time. I am glad I did, but my only regret is not getting to know him better outside the bar. We only casually texted. One day I mentioned that I wasn't feeling good, and he asked if there was anything he could bring me. That spoke volumes to me about the kind of person he was. What was once an Unsung Hero, is now an Angel among us....Rest in Peace, Brent... p.s. Thanks for introducing me to the Colorado Bulldog
