Celia (Sally) Firkins 11/26/1920 7/26/2005 Funeral services will be conducted for Sally Firkins, age 84, on Saturday, July 30, 2005, at the First Southern Baptist Church in Shafter, at 9:00 a.m. Graveside will follow at Shafter Memorial Park. Pastor Jim Williams of the First Southern Baptist Church will officiate. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 28, from 2-8 p.m. and Friday, July 29, from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. at Peters Funeral Home. Sally was born in Ajo, Arizona on November 26, 1920. She married Chuck Firkins on April 9, 1939, in Los Angeles, CA. They moved to their current home in Shafter in 1946, and had their 4 children. She worked at Stringhams Drug Store for 20 years. After Sally and Chuck retired they enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing and spending lots of fun times with family and friends. Sally leaves behind her husband, Chuck; brother, Bobby Cruz; sisters, Norma Anderson and Irma McMachin; children and their spouses, Sally and Bob Holmes, Betty and Dean Fraley, Donald and Jeanie Firkins, Tom and Barbara Firkins; grandchildren, Steven Holmes, Teri Swan, Kelly Gregory, Derek Fraley, Kevin Firkins, Dawn Firkins, Jeff Firkins, Melanie Ponce; and 13 great-grandchildren. Ability to give Verbal Direction: Ability – QUITE OBVIOUS!

Ability to give Visual Direction: One Skinny Long Pointer Finger (crooked at the tip)

As my so called business partner she insisted on a payday (she never showed up for work typical for most bosses)

Equipment Owned: Safety Vest, Hard Head Hat, Orange Safety Flag, and an Official Slow for the Cone Zone Cone

Certifications: Second Toe on each Foot - Longer than average (she so proudly proclaimed this to be a God Given Sign and Birthright of an official Certified Boss!

Special Languages It wasn’t English and it wasn’t Spanish. It was actually quite unique
