Christopher John Goon
1952 - 2017
Christopher John Goon, born December 13, 1952, in the US territory of Guam, passed away on October 4, 2017, after a valiant battle with cancer. He leaves behind to mourn his loss his best friend and wife of 25 years, Ann; son David Goon (Summer), daughter Kristen Hrenchir (JD), stepdaughter Jennifer Santos (Henry), stepson Jason Bateman, and his "brown" son, James Murillo (Nikki); seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter; his brother Kevin Nelson (Gail), sister Cathy Bruhl (Bob); and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Mel and Rosemary Goon, and his cherished sister, Patricia May.
Chris spent his formative years as a "military brat", moving from base to base: Bremerton, WA; Bethesda, MD; Taiwan, China; and San Diego, CA. He graduated from Channel Islands High School in Oxnard, CA; ending up in Bakersfield, CA; where his father retired.
This, along with his candor and bold authenticity allowed Chris to make friends easily wherever he went. An avid "botanist", Chris owned and operated C & G Landscape Maintenance for over 35 years, where his many clients became his friends. Outside of work, Chris enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his devoted Wingmen Harley family. Always the life of the party, Chris never failed to make everyone around him laugh with his raw and unadulterated humor. If you were a friend of Chris', you were a friend for life and we are all blessed to have had the opportunity to know him.
A Mass will be held at Christ the King Church, 1800 Bedford Way, Oildale, CA, on November 4, 2017 at 1:00 pm, followed by a motorcycle procession to The Elks Lodge #266, 1616 - 30th Street, for a Celebration of his Life.

To my brother from a different mother you will be in my heart and in my thoughts till the day I die. Miss you coming in every Friday morning smelling like you ran over a skunk. Have a great ride in heaven. Love you....
