David V. Davis, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on July 7, 1936, David's passion for cars ignited at a young age and remained a defining part of his life. He was the oldest living member of the Golden Empire Mustang Club of Bakersfield, a testament to his lifelong love for classic cars and the camaraderie they brought him.
David worked for over 30 years at Arco, where he served as a purchasing agent before retiring early to devote more time to his passions. One passion was to watch and participate in drag racing of his beloved Shelby's. His other passion was to collect rare cars. David cherished every opportunity to participate in events that fueled his enthusiasm.
David is survived by his loving fiancée, Donna Konstanzer; his daughter, Vickie Bishop (Chuck); his son, Larry Davis (Pattie); his cousin, Bill Davis (Kathy); grandchildren Tarah and Derek Davis; two great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in David's honor to The Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Services will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 11:00am at Greenlawn Southwest, 2739 Panama Lane, Bakersfield, CA 93313. A celebration of life to follow from 12:00pm - 2:00pm at Greenlawn Celebration of Life (Building D).
