Edward Mallory Obituary

Edward Lee (Red Ed) Mallory September 19, 1939 - September 21, 2013 Born in Ash Grove, Missouri to Cyrus Lee and Helen Alene Mallory. Ed, the second of four boys, grew up in the Taft/Belridge area. Upon graduation from Taft High School, Ed joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Bremer Haven, Germany as a Radio Intercept Operator. After leaving the service, he was employed by PG&E as an Electrical Technician where he retired after 40 years. He served as Treasurer, Recording Secretary and eventually President of Local 1245 of the IBEW, which was some of his proudest moments. He will be missed for his kind and gentle heart and big booming voice. He was a brother, husband, father, grandfather, and mentor to many. He was loved by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Darlene Mallory; two brothers, Douglas and Carl Mallory of Bakersfield and Taft respectively; children, Andrea Stewart of Bakersfield and Kristina Campbell of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Arrangements made by Kern River Family Mortuary and services and internment will be held at the Bakersfield Cemetery on Monday, October 21st at 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bakersfield SPCA or the Wounded Warrior Project. www.bakersfield.com/obits
