Edward Svestka Obituary

Edward Donald Svestka "Ed" Nov. 4, 1944 - May 27, 2006 www.bakersfield.com/obits ">www.bakersfield.com/obits Mass will be held Monday, June 5, 2006 at 11:00 am at "Our Lady of the Assumption" in Ventura, Ca. Ed Svestka passed away at his vacation home in Loretto, Mexico on Saturday May 27, 2006. Ed was born in Glendale and grew up in Sun Valley, Ca. He lived in the Lebec area for 38 years. He along with his family owned and operated several businesses, which included: Mark's Cove Restaurant and Cocktail Lounge, Village Market, and Don's Convenience Stores. He Later went into business for himself as Ed's Pumping. He moved from the Lebec area to Oxnard, and he, his sons, and daughter presently are the Mr. Rooter of Ventura coastal area. He made many friends during his lifetime. He loved to hunt at the Tranquility Gun Club of Fresno and spend time in Loretto fishing and relaxing with friends. He was very proud of his wife, children, and grandchildren. He loved them very much. He is preceded in death by his parents Don and LaVonne Svestka. He is survived by his wife Maria of 29 years; his brother Frank Svestka of Lebec, his sisters Kandith Mills, and Shelly Bierer, also of Lebec, Ca., his sons and daughters-in-law Don and Jennifer Svestka, Richard and Amy Svestka, and his daughter, Misty Svestka. He leaves behind 6 grandchildren, Sydney, Eric, Richie, Cristian, William, and Harmony, along with many other cherished family members and friends. We will miss him greatly until we meet again.

I was born and raised in lebec. i remember Ed, esp from Marks coffee shop. I am sorry for your loss. He was a colorful character who brought many laughs and memories to The Hill.
