Frank Veatch Obituary

Frank Veatch was born on November 21, 1944 and passed away May 25, 2014 at the age of 69 after a very short battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Maureen Hamstreet, sons Michael Veatch, Jason Kerr, Keith Hamstreet, and Kris Hamstreet; daughter Carrie Veatch; Brother Joe Graf; and 7 grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents and sister. Frank was born in Barstow, but lived most of his life in Bakersfield.
He retired from Praxair after 30 years of employment as a purchasing agent. His favorite past times were fishing, hunting, target practice, making and restoring knives, Civil War history (he was a volunteer for Tejon re-enactments), and spending time with his grandchildren. He was an Army Veteran, having served in Vietnam.
Viewing will be on Friday, May 30, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Mortuary. Graveside services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 31st.
Calm and peaceful he is sleeping, Sweetest rest that follows pain; We who loved him sadly miss him,But trust in God to meet again.
