Graveside funeral services will be held in the West Side District Cemetery, on Thursday, February 5, 2004, at 1:30 p.m., for Taft resident, Gwen Moore, 90.
Mrs. Moore was born in Willard, Utah, on September 3, 1913, and passed away in Taft on January 30, 2004. Mrs. Moore lived in Maricopa for 35 years and then moved to Bakersfield in 1967. She then returned to Taft in 1999. Mrs. Moore worked for Modern Cleaners located in Maricopa and Taft in the 1950s. She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taft Ward and the Order of Eastern Star. In 1953, she was Worthy Matron in the Maricopa Chapter and in 1962 she was Grand Matron. She also had worked for Stewarts Drug Store for 12 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Edward Moore in 1966; by her parents, John and Elizabeth Bair; by her twin sister, Glenda Miller and by her brothers, Ray and Lee Bair. Her survivors include her son and his wife, Ken and Patty Moore of Taft; her grandchildren and their spouses, Christine and Patrick Campbell, Stephanie and Rudy Vega, Candy Wise, and Kenny and Lorri Moore all of Taft; her great-grandchildren, Ashleigh, Wyttnie and Kenarae Campbell, Trisha Moore, Austin and Cody Wise, Tyler and Mackenzie Vega and Kyleigh, Alexis and Kenny Moore all of Taft.
Those who wish to pay their respects may do so on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and again on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home.
