Nothing anybody can say will ease the pain of losing someone, especially someone like Joe. But please know that Joe made an impact on everyone that none of us could ever hope to achieve in this lifetime, so even though he has gone, he will outlive all of us.
God be with you Kent family, you are in all of our prayers. I will honor his memory for the rest of my life.

My family grew up close to the Kent family and Dr. Kent even pulled my wisdom teeth :-) The one thing I remember the most about Joe is that he was always in a pleasant mood and usually had something funny to say.
As we grew up, everyone knew this day would come, and I personally tried to just put the thought out of my mind, especially when I saw Joe in his wheelchair for the first time, but now that it has come, I realize that he must feel so free to not be bound to a body with such restrictions and although he is not with his family and loved ones, he is so close and knows that they will be together again so soon it will seem like seconds to him. Kent family: I am sorry for your earthly emotional pain and pray that it will pass soon.

I was 16 and a priest the the first time Joe passed the sacrament in our ward in Mt. Mesa. I had the privelage of handing him the tray. It was awesome and I will never forget it. God speed Joe. You have always been an inspiration to me.

Dear Kent's,
We were saddened to hear of Joe's passing for the pain tht it brings to your family. I picture him now free from the burdens of a body that brought him earthly trials but I'm sure so much spiritual growth. We have the fondest memories of you all and the part you all played in helping us grow in the gospel. My thoughts and prayers for the comfort our Savior brings are with you. Love to all

Kent family-
Your family has been on our family's mind for the last several weeks as Joe's life came to a close. How we wish we could all be there to be with you at this time. Know there is hope, know there is love, know there are people thinking of you in Arizona (and Missouri) and probably many other places too. We love you and look forward to seeing your family in a couple of weeks, we will just have to wait a little longer to see Joe again.

I will remember my nephew Joe for many special reasons. He was consistently faithful and grateful to his loving parents. He was always concerned for the happiness and welfare of his sisters. He persevered with determination to accomplishing so many things in his life. He was filled with compassion for others and always expressed his love and concern for them. He was always there to uplift the spirits of others by sharing his keen sense of humor. He showed me by his life and example that we are all capable of far more than we can imagine. I am grateful to be a member of his family. I know he is surrounded by loved ones and will continue to be an example and bless others.

I will always hold a special place in my heart for my sweet cousin Joey. He was always upbeat, smiling and joking. Always had a hug for me and asked how I was. I admire him for his positive attitude, faith and for enduring to the end! What a Christ like example he is to me!

As long as I can remember, I have known and loved Joe as such a wonderful friend as well as like another brother. We attended both church and school together since Kidnergarten and he was always so funny, compassionate and especially positive. I will miss you friend, even though we didn't keep in much contact after school.....you're a hard spirit to forget and never will. Many thoughts and prayers of mine will always be with his family. I'll see you someday again. Love, Sarah.

Joe was a very charitable person and a friend to everyone that knew him. I always saw him as a great example and will continue to try and emulate the way he lived in my own life. I won't forget his smile, sense of humor, or the kindness he showed my family and me. I love you Joe! You will be missed!

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Kent family. I will never forget what a sweet guy Joe is. I attended Jr. High with him and he was the sweetest, most friendly person ever. I later met up with him at Cal-State and was able to catch-up with him, didn't think it was possible, but he was even sweeter. Joe- you are missed.

He was bright spirit in this world, and we are sad to have lost him. His smile was just as bright as his spirit and always so welcoming. Even though its been quite some time since I have seen Joe, i will always remember him throughout our highschool years and being around the Kent residence as a kid. My prayers are with the family...

Mr. & Mrs. Kent and Family - I am so saddened to hear about your loss. Although I never knew Joey well, I do remember his smile. I feel blessed to have met him the few times that I did. My prayers are with you. My heart is broken. Please know that this spurs me on to continue raising money for research so that we can stop the effects of Friedreich's Ataxia. Joey will not be forgotten and his death will serve as a new motivator in the fight against FA. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for your family. Many blessings, Carrie Laird (Kern County Chapter of Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance)
