Julio Claude Paris August 11, 1938 - December 21, 2010 Chapel Services will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2:00 p.m., at Greenlawn Mortuary Chapel, 3700 River Blvd. Julio C. Paris was born in Santa Fe, Argentina. He grew up in Argentina where he studied chemistry at the University of Litoral. In his early twenties, he opened a soap company. Later, he obtained employment with ESSO where he met his soon to be wife, Lily Ann Paris. They moved to the states in November of 1964. Within two days they were married and were able to enjoy 46 years of marriage. He was employed with Upjohn before ultimately working for Mohawk Refinery in Bakersfield. He became chief chemist and worked for the refinery while the management changed from Mohawk to Getty and finally to Texaco. He was loved by his coworkers, friends, and family for his sweet spirit, easy going disposition, and sense of humor. He has been retired for several years and has enjoyed a life of volunteering at the Kern County Library and the County Administrative Building. He enjoyed watching soccer games, doing puzzles, collecting stamps, playing tennis, traveling, and his grandchildren. He was a doting husband and a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Lily Ann Paris; his sister, Ana Maria Paris of Argentina; his son, J. Paul Paris and wife Sheryl and their children Kelly, Casey, and Samuel; his daughter, Laura Paris and her son Brandon. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Caitlin. To the Paris Family: I had the pleasure of working for Julio from 1987 - 1994 at Texaco. He was a great man whom I know will be missed by all who knew him. I never forget all the times he would call me into his office, asking for help to proof read his email before he sent them out! My prayers go out to you ya'll.

We are very sorry for your loss. We have such wonderful memories of Julio being our neighbor, such a kind, funny and gentle soul. He was so cute with the girls, letting them mess up his dirt in the front yard and climb all over the couches. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
