Kathleen O'Connell Obituary

KATHLEEN O'CONNELL

October 10, 1946 February 6, 2024

Bakersfield Kathy was born in Jacksonville, Florida to Wesley Edgar and Frances Nell Sargent O'Connell. She spent her early years on the east coast while her father was in the Navy. After his retirement in 1962, the family moved to Buena Park, California where Kathy graduated from Western High School in Anaheim in 1964. After a brief stint in nursing school in Oakland, she settled in Bakersfield. Her daughters were born and raised here.

Kathy loved her career as a medical transcriptionist. She worked primarily in the field of radiology and was last employed by Quest Imaging. She made many friends during her 45+ years working in the medical community.

In her spare time she loved researching her family history, scrapbooking, and spending time with her cats.

Kathy leaves behind her wonderful daughters Lori and Jenny Camara, brothers Brian (Joanne) and Mike (Robin) O'Connell, sister Susan O'Connell, oldest and dearest friend Joan McCusker and best friend Alysia Orozco.

Her daughters would like to thank Hoffmann Hospice and their amazing staff for their kindness and dedication to her care.
