Kenneth Shamblin Obituary

Ken was reunited with his Grandpa and best friend J-Rob April 17, 2017, after a motor vehicle accident. Ken was born and raised in Bakersfield, Ca where he attended local primary schools, graduating from Stockdale High School where he met his lifelong best friends. After high school, he worked for CNS, Pepsi, and various Oilfield Companies. He was a respected seasoned oilfield worker who said it like it was.
As a child, he played travel soccer and baseball and continued his love of sports as an adult playing indoor soccer and softball. He was an avid KC Chiefs and Bakersfield Condors fan and loved to watch all sports, most of all Soccer. He enjoyed playing poker with friends and could talk for hours and truly cared about what was going on in his friends and family's lives.
He knew his purpose in life when he became Ashley's father and life just got sweeter when Kenneth was born. He was a dedicated father attending all of their extracurricular activities. He was a father to more than just his own kids and he loved all as they were his own.
He is preceded in death by his Grandpas Joseph Shamblin and Harold Bennett and friend Joshua Robertson. Survived by his children Ashley and Kenneth III; his parents Dwayne and Rhonda; grandmas Annette Shamblin and Mary Bennett; brothers Joseph (Jen) and Michael (Sally); girlfriend Christina Miller; nieces and nephews and many dear friends too numerous to name.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kenneth Dwayne Shamblin Jr Memorial Fund at Kern Schools Federal Credit Union, Account #84148. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 29, 2017, 10:00 am -2:00 pm at Patriots Park, 5160 Ming Ave.

You were like a brother to me even though we were just cousins but we sure did a lot together. You will be missed greatly and you will always be in our hearts. This still isn't real to me but as the days pass, it gets more real. I love you and will see you again soon! Until that day please Rest In Peace and watch over your family.

To the father of my kids , to the man I spent 12 years of my life with, to the man who loved me through very hard times and tribulations-I will miss you. I will miss our talks we would have. Even though we had our differences we loved our two kids with all we had, we are their biggest supporters. They still need you , I can't imagine doing the rest without you. Many people are missing you so . The pain is unexplainable. Our kids are so strong - But you knew this -I know your helping them through this and will continue to do so as their angel... Until we meet again❤

Ken was a good man and father. I was appreciated how he told it like it was. I was fortunate enough to coach his son Kenneth on numerous soccer teams. I'll miss him. David Blevins
