Larry Lara, Jr. aka "Jay" and "Junior" was born on May 13, 1984 to Larry and Rita, in Bakersfield, California and passed away on January 8, 2015. He was a middle child and loved his siblings, Maria, Viola, Jessica, and Anthony very much. His mother passed away when he was very young and his grandmother Teresa took care of him, whom he called mom and loved dearly. Jay worked at a small business as a sand blaster. He was an amazing pool player, he was a member of the Bakersfield's American Pool Players Association and this was what he loved to do. He was such a sweet kind hearted person everybody at pool knew his face.
Jay lived at home with his fiance Amber and his son Jonah. The only thing Jay loved more than pool was family and friends. He loved spending time with his other children, Arik, Isabella, and Mariska. His children made his life worth it all, he loved to hear and see them laugh. He had many loving people that he enjoyed surrounding himself around and building his family, like his cousins Jorge and Roxanne and his best friend Heather. He will always be in our hearts and always on our minds never to be forgotten.
Visitation for Jay will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles St.) on Thursday, January 22nd between 4pm-8pm and funeral services will be held on Friday, January 23rd at 11am in the Basham Funeral Care Chapel followed by a graveside at Union Cemetery. Afterward, Stellas Sandtrap will host a pot luck in honor of our dear beloved Jay.
