Marilyn Baker Obituary
January 10, 1933 – February 10, 2025
Graveside services will be held at 11am Friday, February 21, 2025 at Westside Cemetery in Taft, CA for Marilyn Baker, 92, who passed away February 10, 2025 in Bakersfield, CA.
Marilyn was born in Bakersfield, January 10, 1933 and raised in Fellows, graduating from Taft High School in 1950 and later Taft College. Marilyn worked for W.T. Woodward for a number of years in Taft and then spent the rest of her career working for Contel Telephone first in Taft and then in Bakersfield where she moved in 1984.
After retiring from Contel, Marilyn enjoyed fishing, traveling, spending time with her friends and attending St. Phillip's Catholic Church.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Don. Survivors include her son, Richard, and wife, Mary Anne.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Brookdale Senior Living, Mercy Hospitals and Bristol Hospice for caring for her.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 4pm-7pm at Doughty-Calhoun-O'Meara Chapel.

Marilyn was one of a kind. She loved her family, enjoyed going to the movies then going out to eat. She enjoyed traveling adventures to the coast and visiting national parks. We always had fun and I will miss her dearly. I know your in heaven with Don. May you rest in peace.
