Services: Sat., Feb. 22, 10:30 a.m.
Services will be held at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Chapel, 2739 Panama Ln., Saturday, February 22, at 10:30 a.m., for Robert Holland Blackhawk, 72, who passed away February 15, 2003, in a local hospital. Rev. Dale Aycock will officiate and interment will follow at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Park.
Robert was born January 1, 1931, in Allen, Oklahoma and resided in Kern County for 57 years. He was a truck driver for 40 years. Robert was adopted by the Lewis family where he worked for 52 years and was greatly loved and respected. He was called Uncle Bob.
Robert was preceded in death by daughter, Elizabeth OBrien; grandson, Chris OBrien; mother, Mattie Blackhawk; brother, John Blackhawk; and sister, Retha Fields. Survivors include his wife, Kim Blackhawk; son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Cheryl Blackhawk; daughter, Lois Blackhawk all of Bakersfield; grandson and wife, Craig and Niki OBrien; granddaughter, Nicole Blackhawk; son-in-law, Glen OBrien; sisters, Edna Chronister of Oklahoma, Alice Langston and Barbara McAbee and husband, Winton; brother, Charles F. Blackhawk and wife, Mary all of Bakersfield; sister-in-law, Helen Blackhawk of Bakersfield and many other loving relatives and friends.
The family wishes to extend a special Thank You to all the Doctors, family and friends who took such good care of my husband, Robert. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Comrpehensive Blood and Cancer Center, 6501 Truxtun Ave., Bakersfield, CA 93309.
Pallbearers will be Robert Fields, Winton McAbee, John Lewis, Glen OBrien, Edward Blackhawk and Craig OBrien. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Lewis and Peter Lewis.
Visitation will begin Friday, February 21, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
