Ronald Ralphs Obituary

Ronald Albert Ralphs, 80, passed away on March 25th, 2015 at Henry Mayo Hospital in Santa Clarita, CA with family at his side. Ronald was born on May 16th, 1934 to James Lloyd Ralphs and Edna Schmidt Ralphs. Ron was raised on his family's cattle ranch in Gorman, California. After attending high school at Army and Navy Academy in Carlsbad, California, he attended the University of California, Davis and Woodbury College, where he met his future wife, Julie Ferrell. They married on May 6th 1961. After college Ron returned to Gorman to help run the family businesses.
Ron loved the outdoors, enjoyed working the cattle ranch, farming wheat, hunting and traveling. His favorite place on the earth was the Sierra Nevada Mountains where he was closest to God. Ron was a member of the Rancheros Visitadores since 1964, as well as several hunting clubs throughout the years.
Ron is survived by his wife, Julie; daughter, Erin, (Bob) Bawcombe; sons Greg and Ryan Ralphs; grandchildren, Taylor, Kelsey and Jordan Bawcombe, Tristan and Cole Ralphs; and brother Douglas Ralphs. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and his brother James Lloyd Ralphs Jr.
A celebration of life was held on April 17th , 2015 at Chalet Basque in Bakersfield. Funeral services were private at Greenlawn Southwest on April 18th, 2015 Donations are suggested to Wounded Warrior Project.
