Stanley Langston

1937 - 2009

Stanley Langston 1937 - 2009 Stanley Langston (aka "Dad" and "Papa") was born on September 11, 1937 and passed away with his family by his side on July 22, 2009. His family was the most important thing in his life. He was unconditionally dedicated to his wife of 46 years, Carol, four children, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Stanley worked in the masonry business in Bakersfield first as a bricklayer, then as a contractor from 1977 until he retired in 1996. Since retirement he enjoyed his weekly golf games with friends, travelling in his 5th wheel with his wife and The Dianas, and tending to his garden and other projects around the house. He was a constant presence at youth sporting events for his kids and his grandkids. He was known best for his generosity, his big smile and friendly greetings. Stanley is survived by his wife, Carol; daughter, Karen Langston; sons and daughters-in law, Steve and Audra Langston, Bob and Dee Dee Langston, and Donnie and Erica Langston. Stanley was a beloved "papa" to Ashley Gamboa, Steven, Brooke, Damien and Lexi Langston; Amy Williams and Dustin Langston, Allison and Noah Langston; and his three great grandchildren, Jeslynn and Jaeda Williams, and Ian Gamboa. His parents, Robert and Ida Langston, and two brothers, Allen and Dennis Langston, precede him in death. Services will be held Saturday, July 25, at Brimhall Road Assembly of God, 10700 Brimhall Road at 10:00 a.m. An intimate graveside ceremony will take place immediately following at Greenlawn Mortuary, 3700 River Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to BARC Foundation, 2240 S.
