Steven O'Neil Obituary

Steven O'Neil 10/4/1958 - 08/10/2013 Steven O'Neil was the first person to be there when there was anybody around him in need. He also happened to be one of the biggest cheerleaders for those he loved and cared about. He was all about giving back to the community whether it was helping to find a truck and driver to help haul a trailer for a local high school's band equipment or it was helping to organize a trip to the Long Beach Aquarium for a local elementary school. He was a man who lived life hard, lived life passionately, who didn't believe in "I can't", and who was bigger than life itself. The O'Neil family wants to thank everybody for the huge outpouring of love and support that they have received because of this devastating tragedy. Steve is survived by his mother Mildred P. O'Neil; his wife Pamela O'Neil; his sisters Patti Brown and Susan Meyer; his children Terry Corke, James Hart, Chelsey Labelle, Marissa Hart, and Shamus Marusiak. Steve didn't want to have traditional services, instead he wanted there to be a celebration of life. This Saturday, at RJ's Bar & Grill at 12:00 pm we plan to do just that in order to share stories and celebrate the man we will always hold in our hearts. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to: The O'Neil Memorial Fund at Kern Schools Federal Credit Union #34154, The Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber Fund, or The Wounded Warrior Project. www.bakersfield.com/obits

Pam, our hearts are broken along with yours. We loved Steve and missed those fun rides we used to go on. (from one food spot to another!) As his interests changed, and he broke the Harley, we kind of drifted apart. I'm sorry we let that happen. He will now always be in our hearts. Our love goes out to you. He will always be that little buzz you hear in your ear and that angel on your shoulder.
