Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Park, 2739 Panama Ln., Friday, May 21, at 2:30 p.m. for Walter Eugene Buford, 63, who went home, Sunday, May 16, 2004 after fighting a tough fight with cancer and diabetes.
Walter was born March 12, 1941, in Truman, Arkansas to Doshie and Charles Buford, and moved to California at a young age. He was part owner-operator of Burford Brothers Trucking.
Walter is survived by his wife, Corinna; 11 children, Edward Buford and wife, Bonnie of Oklahoma, Deborah Charles of Morro Bay, Rachelle King of Oklahoma, Veronica Buford and husband, John Dennis of Santa Maria, Holly Suter and husband, Dave of Oklahoma, Kristine Ingle and husband, Steven of Oklahoma, Raymond Courtwright Jr. and wife, Sondae of Bakersfield, Daniel Stidman and wife, Kim of Oklahoma, Jimmy Stidman and wife, Kim of Oklahoma, Gary Stidman of Bakersfield and Shanna Stidman and fiancé, Raymond Martinez of Bakersfield; 42 grandchildren, Walter Jr., Joseph, Edward Jr., Dalton, Brian, Sherri, Melissa, Becky, Angela, Shianne, Brittaney, Amerieshia, Shaevidner, Anastashia, Kyle, Brent, David, Layla, Sara, Daryl, Chad, Jennifer, Candace, Casandra, Cynthia, Nicholas, Jeffrey, Jonathon, Steven Jr., Bailey, Hailey, Justin, Hunter, Reagan, Kaleb, Shane, Sonny, Morgen, Dylan, Kyle, Stevie and Bruce; four great-grandchidlren, Austin, Bradly, Nouh and Bryant; and brothers, Leon and wife, Annetta and Perve and wife, Shirley. Walter is preceded in death by his parents, Doshie and Charlie Buford; brothers, Jessie, Sim, Roy, Claudine and Berl Dean; one infant sister; and sisters, Billie, Jimmy and Kristine.
Walter has a very large family and many friends (too many to name). He was loved dearly by all. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was a one of a kind man loved by everyone. Sweetheart rest in peace until we see each other again. Remember I loved you then, I love you now and Ill love you even more when were together again. Ill miss you baby more than words can ever say.
