Wayne Legg Obituary
May 8, 1937 – September 27, 2025
Wayne Stanley Legg passed peacefully at home on Saturday, September 27, 2025 of natural causes. Wayne was born in Cullman, Alabama on May 8, 1937 to parents Arthur Stanley Legg and Katie Inez (Aderhold) Legg. The Legg Family moved to the Arvin/Lamont area in 1945. Wayne graduated from Arvin High School in 1956. In 1956 Wayne enlisted in the Navy. He served on the USS Oriskany, an aircraft carrier. He was a hard-working man. In 2001 he retired from a 27-year position at San Joaquin Refinery where he was the ABA Manager. He is fondly remembered there.
Wayne adored his wife, Carole. They were married 33 years and the two traveled, fished, golfed and RVed everywhere together. They often RVed with their great friends at Solera where they were residents for the recent 18 years. Wayne was smart, sharp, a great story teller, witty, fun, funny and light on his feet. For all these things he will be remembered and missed.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Katie Legg, sister Yvonne Brown, sister Quemba Brown, half-brother Kenneth Legg. Wayne is survived by his loving and devoted wife Carole Legg, son Kenneth Wayne Mullen, son Kevin Legg, daughter Ginni Bowman, stepchildren Brad Williams, Denise Stenger and Dawn Gallagher; sisters Bobbie Jo Wildharber, Denise Legg, and LaNeice Kersten. Wayne also had 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
The service will be Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 1:00 at Greenlawn SW, in the main chapel located at 2739 Panama Lane, Bakersfield.
You are all welcome to attend the Celebration of Life after the service at: The Grove at Solera located at 6000 Park Place Drive.
