Albert Sun Obituary
Dr. Albert Sun passed away on March 8, 2015 in Towson, MD at the age of 75, two weeks after being diagnosed with advanced gastric cancer. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Dr. Chen-Chih Sun; his son, Spencer; his brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews. Dr. Sun was born in Tainan, Taiwan to a large, loving family. After graduating from the top medical school in Taiwan, he received a full scholarship to pursue a Ph.D. degree at Johns Hopkins University. However to assist with his family's financial hardship, he decided to forgo his dream of becoming a medical scientist and embarked on residency training in internal medicine. He completed subspecialty training in pulmonary and critical care at Duke University Medical Center. He practiced medicine in Fallston, MD for almost 40 years, even up until the cancer diagnosis. In accordance with his wishes, Dr. Sun's body was donated for medical education. Visitors may call from 2 pm to 5 pm on Saturday, March 14th at the Ruck Funeral Home in Towson. Memorial donations may be made to the Upper Chesapeake Health Foundation (www.uchfoundation.org)

Altho' time has passed, it feels like yesterday. I pray that everyday I practice his gift of care & compassion for "elders", that I witnessed in his medical skills. I miss him.

A gentleman with a golden heart, Dr. Sun was a giving and untiring supporter for the arts and culture. Many community organizations have regularly received generous donations from Dr. Sun and his wife, Chen-Chih, both well respected by friends and people who know them. What A great loss!

Dr. Sun was a kind and caring doctor. I worked with him every now and then in the ICU at Upper Chesapeake. He always treated the nurses with great respect. He will be greatly missed. He and his entire family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers.

He was the only doctor I ever knew at UCMC who truly embraced healing the whole body & not just what the patient's current diagnosis was. My condolences to his family.

Dr Sun will be greatly missed. If you asked him a question and he didn't have the answer he would find it for you. He was a very knowledgeable physician. I worked with Dr Sun for 17 years and never heard a cross word from him. May he rest in peace.

I had the privilege of working with Dr. Sun on many occasions in the ER at Fallston General Hospital. Dr. Sun was ALWAYS so caring, so attentive to his patience and so respectful of the nurses.
