Barbara Stengle Obituary
On May 21, 2014 BARBARA A. STENGLE, age 66, of Edgewood, MD, beloved daughter of the late Francis W. Stengle and Esther M. Stengle; dear sister of William Stengle, Barry Stengle, Bernadette Dellone and the late Elizabeth Metzger-Dennis and Robert Stengle; loving aunt of 8 nephews, 6 nieces, 8 grand nephews and 12 grand nieces. Barbara was born in Baltimore and graduated from Mercy High School and the University of Maryland. She worked as a Baltimore City teacher and then with the Maryland Office of Employment Training. She loved the theatre, especially traveling to London and NY City to see the latest hit shows. She was a big Baltimore Orioles fan and provided a home for a number of stray cats. A private cremation ceremony will be held. The family will host a celebration of Barbara's Life for family and friends at a later date. Online tributes may be left at

I am so sorry to hear of Barbara's passing. We were in school together and along with Bonnie W and my young cousins traveled to NYC & Shea Stadium to see the Beatles. What a special time that was! Shared some exciting days in London too. Rest in peace Barbara.

Barbara & I shared rides to Mercy. She was always a sweet person. A favorite memory was seeing Elton John with her at the Civic Center. Although I hadn't seen her since high school she had been in my thoughts this last year- there is always a reason! God bless her family and rest easy, Barbara.

My heartfelt sympathy to Barbara's family. Barbara was a co-worker and friend. I depended on her advice for all the latest on the Broadway shows. My Aunt Barbara was a good hearted woman...I'm glad that I got to know her better in the past couple years, and I'm especially grateful that she was able to meet my son and that we were able to have some great chats on the phone. I will miss you Aunt Barbara, but I take comfort that you're no longer in pain and are at peace with God and with many of our family members and loved ones...

Barbara was a colleague, and more importantly a friend, for over 25 years. I always valued her advice and friendship. Fondly remember her crushes on Jon Bon Jovi and Stephen Rea.and me teasing her about liking short men. My sympathy and condolences to the family.

We were friends a long time ago. We shared an apartment in Baltimore, a flat in London, met Paul McCartney together, and loved the Beatles and Moody Blues. We enjoyed a lot a theatre and plays with Wil, Carl, and Henry in the cast. You will be missed by your family and friends. Rest in peace, Barbara.
