Bernice Stein Obituary

105 years old, born in New York City, she died December 28, 2022, the day after her 105th birthday. "Bunny" lived in Baltimore, MD with her first husband Albert D. Hutzler, Jr., then President of Hutzler Brothers Department Store. With her second husband, Dr. Irvin Stein, she resided in Boca Raton, FL and Baltimore, MD. Daughter of Golde Kaplan Levy and Adolf Levy, she was sister to James K. Levy who died as a fighter pilot in WWII. She attended Goucher College and New York University. Known for her philanthropy and kindness, a dear friend to many. She leaves daughter Betty Friedman, husband Ed, son Albert D. Hutzler III, wife Sandra, son James Hutzler, wife Mary. Her grandchildren Douglas Friedman (Karen), Emilie Musgrave (Win), Geoffrey Friedman (Michele), Albert D. Hutzler IV (Sheri), Gilston Hutzler (Meryl), and great-grandchildren, Daniel, Alex, Sarah, Jeremiah, Amy, Henry, Ilana, Phillip, Ellie, Aidan, Jake, and Joe. Deepest appreciation to her dear caregivers and friends Amoy Mahoney, Shermin Gomez, and Rita Taylor. Thanks for the care and kindness of all at Roland Park Place, where she resided for 23 years.

A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Roland Park Place - Employee Hardship Fund.
