Daniel Marshall Hogan

1990 - 2022

Hogan, Daniel Marshall. Baltimore, Md. Daniel Hogan passed away unexpectedly on February 26th, 2022. Born in Niskayuna, New York on April 5, 1990, he was the son of Dr. William J. Hogan and Lise A. Hogan of Dorset, Vermont and Mays Chapel, Maryland.

Daniel's love for music was always apparent. At two, we put headphones on Daniel who happily bounced to the Rolling Stones. By high school, at Albany Academy, Dan learned to play the upright bass and many instruments followed including the electric bass, the guitar, the mandolin, and the ukulele. After graduating from Siena College with a degree in Creative Arts, Dan's love for music led him to a career as an audio engineer. He worked at Barrington Stage (Pittsfield, MA), Center Stage (Baltimore, MD), and most recently at Towson University (Baltimore, MD) as an audio engineer.

Daniel was a kind and generous friend with an amazing sense of wit. His family will always remember him as a loving soul with limitless empathy for others. He was fun, funny, and smart. He loved music, animals, and sports: Capitals Hockey, the Washington Redskins, and the Baltimore Orioles especially.

To know Daniel was to know a very special person. He leaves behind his parents and sister Emily Hogan Hanley, her husband Hugh Hanley and Daniel's nephew, Everett Hanley of Ruxton, Md; Maternal grandmother Janet Grinder of Fredrick, Md; Uncle Michel Grinder and his wife Marly van de Ven of Fairfield, Pa; Uncle Michael Hogan and Gail Hogan (cousins Katherine and Christopher) of Potomac Falls, Va.

A memorial gathering for Daniel will be held on Sunday, March 13 from 2-4 pm at Ruck Funeral Home in Towson, Md. So that Dan's memory will always live on in the music, we ask that you donate to the music program at Albany Academy (https://www.albanyacademies.org/thank-you-for-your-gift) in lieu of flowers. Daniel will forever be so deeply loved.
