I'll always remember the great times we had together playing ice-hockey with Bruce and his brother Barry and Marvin in the 1960's and early 1970's on the Patapsco River. Bruce was a great player and he will be missed. God bless you Bruce and may peace be with you always. Your friend Dan Kershner

Heaven now has another angel, Beets I will alway remember him making me laugh. Playing golf with him was a real treat. Rest in peace dear.

Dear Susan, I met Beets when he was in his teens. He worked one summer with me and came to work at the county a few years later. We rode to work together daily until I retired in 1995.A great story teller, always willing to help everyone. We had many laughs going to and from work.A hard worker and someone you could count on for help or a laugh. I will always remember him as "my best friend".May he rest in piece.Andy Schatz

Beets, as he was known to most of us.
Was a friend coworker. Even from a floor and a department away he left you with a smile and a good feeling when he came by. Beets was one of the good souls in our building that made life at the County less like work, more tolerable, even fun. He will be missed by all who had the fortune to have known him. My condolences to you and your family.

Sue, I so wanted to come to the service last night to testify in person to the great man known to me as "Beets", but the ice kept me grounded. He was generous, gentle, funny, and smart - just a wonderful guy whose presence made our workplace a better place to be. May God bless you with peace and the assurance that Bruce is in a better place. My thoughts and prayers are with you and you family.

To say I'm sorry doesn't quite cover it. When I heard of Bruce's passing it simply broke my heart. I haven't seen him in years but I know that he was still the same loving, funny, caring, joke player that he'd been many years ago. I knew Bruce from the days on Paul's softball team. Sue I'm so very sorry for your loss and I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. I'm sorry I didn't make the viewing. I really wanted to come but the weather kept me home.

Bruce was always the life of the party, the biggest joker, with the kindest heart. One of my fondest memories was his 40th birthday party, carrying on playing volleyball and drinking in the hot sun. My husband played softball with him for many years for Paul's Tavern. Although we have not seen him for many years, I know he was still the same, bright eyed, happy go lucky person, I knew back then. I am deeply sorry for your loss Sue and family. I had planned to come to the service today but was too nervous to drive because of the ice. I will keep the family in my thoughts and prayers.

Take care,
Jen and Matt Davidson

Baltimore County has lost one of its best. Of all the co-workers I've been friends with in dozens of companies, "Beets" Beutelspacher is among the most personable I can recall. He was a good guy, a hard worker and an especially quick wit. He had a unique energy that invoked comeraderie and laughter in any gathering. He is and will continue to be missed beyond words to describe.

Dearest Beutelspacher Family,

The irony that a heart condition could steal a man with such an incredibly huge heart is unimaginable. Beets' extreme kindness was overwhelming, his positive outlook never daunted and willingness to help anyone without question a true rarity.

Without a doubt the world was a better place with Beets in it and for those of us who had the opportunity to know him he will never be forgotten.

May your memories surround you and bring comfort at this time. May they bring a smile to your face and touch your heart as you reflect on your life with Beets.

With most sincere sympathy,

I was very close to Bruce when we were younger. He was always great to be around. Bruce was full of life and very funny. He also cared a lot about his friends and family. I haven't seen Bruce in awhile and took for granted that I would see him again. My spouse Valarie and I are deeply saddened at Bruce's passing. We know that Bruce is in a better place now but we will miss him very much.
