Dear Wynkie,
It has been a very long time since we have seen each other. I spoke with a mutual friend this morning and she told me of your tremendous loss. I had not known you remarried. Having read the other tributes, he must have been a wonderful man and a great husband. I am so sorry he is no longer with you, but am happy you have been blessed to be married to a man with such a beautiful soul. I will try to contact you in the near future.
With deepest sympathy,
Helgi Nelson

Tom and I are so sorry to hear that you have lost Dave. We have many fond memories of him, going way back to the Coast Guard years. He was a lovely man, and his loss will surely be felt by many.

To Wynki and Davids family I had worked with David for almost 10 years and have considered him my friend for 20 some years. I have lost a very good friend. I will miss him greatly.

Went to Towson High School with Dave but more than that he was like another brother because he came to our house in Loch Raven Village frequently as a teen. So handsome and so nice. We connected at some high school reunions and it was always great to catch up on our lives. So sad to know that his life ended so young and by such a horrible disease as ALS. Condolences to his family.

For Wynki
Everyone in life I suppose, has someone of exceptional character, whom they hold as a standard to live up to. For me, that person has always been cousin Dave.
I was a young child when Dave came to live with us before going into the Coast Guard Academy. And when on leave he would return home and fill my mind with impressions, and possibilities, of a world far beyond my own. Those were formative years for me, and Dave’s impression on me was huge. Although I suspect, he never knew the full extent of the impression he made on others.
Just yesterday a friend showed me his red TR3, and I said, “that’s identical to cousin Dave’s”! Suddenly, all of the memories of riding around with him came rushing back.
Even the memory of Dave sticking his finger into the TR3’s battery to test the acid level — now that was FUNNY!
But the important thing, is that Dave was always much more than a cousin. And although both of you live so far way, you’ve never been far from my heart, or from my prayers.
My heart broke with the sad news of Dave’s illness, and Wynki you have my sincerest gratitude for the happiness and kindness you’ve brought into the entire family and specifically into Dave’s life.
Thank you for all that you have done, God certainly will look favorably upon you. And on the opposite side of our final heartbeat, being with God is where all of us will be, reunited —for eternity. And that — is a very good place to be.
Hold on to that understanding, because God will see you through this very sad time.
Thank you Wynki.
We will see you soon.

To Wynki and all of Dave's family,
I had the pleasure of working closely with Dave for several years at the Virginia Hotel in Cape May. We were colleagues but also friends and we got through our days by sharing plenty of laughs. I can hear his laugh now. Dave was a true gentleman and an excellent hotel controller. It was my pleasure to have known him.
