I wish to offer my sympathy on the death of Mr. Marshall. Although I did not know him, we have certain connections: my father was a long-time employee of NOSL and I play horn in the Holy Name Band.

I will not be able to be with the band for the traditional rosary, but I will pray the Office for the Dead for David's repose.

May God give you consolation in your time of loss and grief.

To the whole Marshall clan:

I concur that Mr. Marshall was "a wonderful husband and an exceptional father." In fact, he defined the term "gentleman." He was truly a gentle man. I appreciate the time he spent with me as I endured the triumphs and tragedies of youth. He was sincere, steadfast and quite insightful. And he loved and supported his family like nobody's business. Should God bless me with the role of husband and father, I will live that role Mr. Marshall's way. He continues to inspire me. He was a rare class act, and I will miss him.

We have all been blessed because we knew David Marshall. May your God go with you today and always.

Dear Marshall Family,
Our deepest sympathy. Your father/husband was always so engaging, kind, gentle, sweet and interested in me and my family whenever I saw him around Louisville. I told Charlie the other day my image of your father/husband is always “arm in arm” with his true love Gloria. I often would be driving on Bardstown Road and see them out for a walk. It always made me smile to see such affection! Thank you for inviting me into your lives and sharing your lovely big family on Holidays! My thoughts, love and prayers are with all of you.
