Doris Jane "Mo" Reynold

Doris Reynold, 92, of Laurel, Maryland passed away peacefully at her home on February 6, 2022. Born in Keedysville, MD to the late Alta Jane (Haller) and Howard C. Knode, she was the youngest of 9 siblings and is survived by her sisters Esther Cheney (104) and Juanita Ralls (99).

She is survived by her three sons: Paul (Julie), Steve (Brenda), and Mark (Kurt Weigand). The next generations include her adoring grandchildren Michael (Melissa) Reynold, Megan (Christopher) Grosso, Julia Reynold, Matthew (Emily) Reynold, Adam Reynold and Jennifer Reynold; and great-grandchildren Ava Jane, Caroline and Bradley Reynold, and Olivia and Jocelyn Grosso. She was predeceased by her great-grandson Nathan Grosso.

Mo graduated as valedictorian of her Boonesboro High School class. She received her bachelor's degree from Towson State Teachers College and her master's degree from Bowie State College. As a natural teacher, she was able to utilize her skills around the world as the wife of an Air Force Officer. She landed her dream job as a kindergarten teacher at Bond Mill Elementary School, where she worked for over twenty years until her retirement. She did not let her professional career get in the way of her family as she guided her three sons and three grandsons to become Eagle Scouts. She was also legendary for her love of sports, even carrying her "brackets" everywhere during "March Madness".

Doris spent much of her time helping others. She served on various committees for Our Savior Lutheran Church, volunteered at Elizabeth House preparing meals for the less fortunate, was an active member of the West Laurel Civic Association, and while in her eighties she led bingo for the "old people" in local nursing homes.

Always the teacher, she donated her body to the Maryland Anatomy Board to advance the education of future doctors. A Celebration of Life will take place at 11:00 a.m. on February 25, 2022 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 13611 Laurel Bowie Rd., Laurel, Md., 20708.
