E. Joyce Hinder

E. Joyce Hinder, age 94, of Bel Air, MD passed away on March 8, 2022, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. Born in Frederick, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late John and Edith (O'Hara) Yingling and wife of the late Joseph F. Hinder, Sr.

Joyce grew up in Adamstown in Frederick County, MD. While attending high school, she aspired to be an Army nurse and worked at Ft. Detrick during the summer of her junior and senior year as well as after her senior year. She went to nursing school and upon receiving her RN, she worked at Perry Point VA Hospital to be closer to her father. After marrying her husband, she retired from nursing and stayed home to take care of her family. She enjoyed playing bridge, golfing and bowling.

Joyce is survived by her sons, Keith O. Hinder, Sr. and his wife Beth, Joseph F. Hinder, Jr. and his wife Barbara, Fred C. Hinder, II and his wife Sally, Kelly M. Hinder and his wife Suzanne, William K. Hinder and his wife Kathy; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and 29 nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brother, John William Yingling, and sister, Jean Norris Yingling.

Visitation will be held under the caring guidance of the family owned and operated McComas Funeral Home, Bel Air, Maryland on Friday, March 11, 2022, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Services will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Churchville Presbyterian Church at 10:30 am. Interment will take place in Harford Memorial Gardens.
