If Mel was still with us, I'd call him every week to talk about the Ravens. We would get together and watch the game. Mel always treated me to pizza or the dinner of the week. Mel patiently taught me about football. I miss him most now and for his birthday. If anyone deserves his place in heaven, our Emidio is there right now.

Mel Ross (as my mother knew him) was her best friend when she lived on Eastern Ave. The picture of the 2 of them is circa 1927. After my mother passed away a few years ago I found letters from Mel - they had stayed in touch all those many years. We visited with Mel a few years ago and I introduced him to my family. He was a very special man. He gave me something I treasure - a set of marbles with his and my mother's initials scratched on the box.

I knew Mel through his good friend Joe Manfre. Mel was a wonderful, kind soul who I was happy to become acquainted with at Charm City Fitness. My condolences to his family

I was saddened to learn of "E.J.'s" passing. He was my father's best friend and he treated all of us like his family. We felt the same way about him. I enjoyed visiting with him when I came to Baltimore from Vermont, and he was always "HAPPY" to take us to lunch in the city he loved. He was a generous and gentle man. I hope that his reunion with my father will be a joy to both of them.

I will cherish all the times when me you Sue Kemp, Donna and Joe gathered out front of your house daily. They were Happy times. You were a great neighbor and friend. Thank you for being a part of my life and all of the our group on Potomac St. I have fond memories of you and your brother Dominick over the years. I wont forget about you. You definitely made an impact in this world for many people including me. I remember the time when I first moved in the neighborhood. You and your brother shoveled me out and pushed my car in the snow so I could get to work. I was so grateful to have you as a neighbor.

Mel was the greatest neighbor. Mel was educated, wise, generous, kind, funny, thoughtful and every trait wanted in a good friend. Mel is sorely missed.
