Emily Burke Obituary
The family will receive friends at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (915 Liberty Road) Eldersburg on Wednesday from 6 to 8pm and on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm. A funeral mass will be held on Friday at 10am at the church. Interment will be private. Those desiring may make donations in her memory to the Community Foundation of Carroll County, PO Box 170, Westminster, MD 21158. Arrangements are by the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, Sykesville, MD.

Emily was my cousin and i miss her very much. it's hard to believe it's been a whole year since it happened and i still remember the day i found out... i miss you terribly emily and i hope to see you again someday.

i miss her alott.
She was in my orchestra when i was in 6th grade. I always lovedd going to full orchestra because the 8th graders made it cool. she was nice to every one and her smile lit up the room. Im sure everyone in orchestra misses her alot, i know me and aly do.

Emily was an amazing girl. Even though I didn't know her personally, I always thought of her as a beautiful, thoughtful and crazzzyyy girl. I still think of her that way.

It hurt to hear of Emily's death. It hurt to have to play a Lacrosse game the day after. It hurt not to go to the funeral.
I'll miss her gravely. She helped me through so much.

I did not know Emily personally, but her Grandmother (Ellie) is a friend of mine from church.
From everything that I have heard, Emily was a wonderful person. The world needs more people like her, and we are all poorer for her loss.

I am so sorry for the loss of Emily. We as parents never expect to bury a child. It saddens me a great deal to know that your family has lost a wonderful daughter/sister as well as the Liberty High School community. Emily was so loved by her friends and teachers. After going through middle school with Emily i got to know how much of an amazing girl she was. She was always smiling and having fun, nothing could get her down! I'm truely lost for words, I can not say enough how sorry I am for the loss of Emily and the difficult sadness that your son Paul must feel! This has been a very difficult time for Christy as she was Emily's lunch buddy, softball partner and softball bus buddy! It's going to be hard for my daughter to sit on that bus and have that empty space beside her, but we know know that Emily will still be there in spirit and that seat will be reserved for the sweet crazy fun loving emily everyone loved. Your sweet little Emily has touched so many lives and will never be forgotten. It will be hard for the Liberty softball girls to carry their game on Wednesday but they all know that Emily is looking down even if she is not there in view she will still be at that game. I will for ever remember your Emily as she reminds me so much of my daughter with her little freckles (we call them angel kisses) and her never ending smile! Many prayers go out to your family at this difficult time!
