Steven, Susan, Gary, Michelle, Mary Beth, Lisa and families, please accept my sincere sympathy upon the recent loss of your sweet father. During the 1960's as a childhood friend of the Stacharowski kids (especially Sue), I spent a lot of time at the family home on Hamilton Avenue in Rosedale. Mr. and Mrs. Stacharowski were always so generous about opening their home to neighborhood children. Mr. Stacharowski had the most beautiful welcoming smile that he shared with everyone. One of my most vivid childhood memories was of Mr. Stacharowski returning from his mail route one afternoon to a houseful of kids - his six as well as a few others from our neighborhood. Mrs. Stacharowski greeted him at the door with two special frosty drinks she called "Pink Squirrels." She had seen the recipe in a magazine and whipped them up especially for her sweetheart to celebrate his arrival home from work. With kids swirling all around them, they toasted each other, pink squirrels in hand, and gazed dreamily into each others' eyes as if no one else was in the room. What a stellar example of true and lasting love! An image worth remembering. May God bless you all during this time of loss. Your father was such a wonderful man.
