George Makres Obituary
On June 1, 2017, George Makres, son of the late Dimitrios and Sevasti (nee Rigas) Makres; beloved husband of Chrisanthe (nee Samaras); devoted father of Theodora Guerra and her husband Michael, Dimitri G. Makres and his wife Perianne and George Makres, Jr. and his wife Vikki; loving grandfather of Emily and Allison Guerra, George, John, Gus and Katrina Makres and Christina and Cina Makres; also, dear brother of Christopher Makres and his wife Helen, the late Steve Makres, and the late William Makres. George served Active Duty with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from 1952-1956. A Trisaghion Service will be held at the family owned Leonard J. Ruck, Inc. Funeral Home, 5305 Harford Road (at Echodale) on Tuesday, 7:00pm. Mr. Makres will lie in state at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church on Wednesday 10:30-11am, the funeral hour. Interment St. Demetrios Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2504 Cub Hill Road, Baltimore, MD 21234.
