Gerard Szymkowiak Obituary

Rev. Gerard J. Szymkowiak, a Redemptorist priest from Saint Clement Mission House in Ephrata, PA, died peacefully on October 3, at Stella Maris Hospice in Timonium, Maryland, at age 88. Fr. Gerard is survived by his beloved cousins; his devoted Redemptorist confreres; and many dear family friends and those from his Redemptorist life and ministry.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church (OMPH) at 330 Church Avenue in Ephrata on Wednesday, October 8, with a viewing from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, followed by a Vigil Prayer Service at 7:30 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, October 9, at 11:00 AM in OMPH Church. A viewing will also take place in the Church from 10:00-10:45 AM prior to the start of the Funeral Mass. Interment will immediately follow the Liturgy at the Redemptorist Cemetery of Saint Clement's Mission House in Ephrata. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Father Gerard's memory to the Redemptorist Fathers and Brothers of the Baltimore Province at 3112 7 St. NE, Washington, DC, 20017
