Harry Pappas Obituary

Harry Plato Pappas, beloved husband of Anna Z. Pappas (nee Zambounis), fell asleep in the Lord, on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the age of 95.

He is survived by his loving children, Jason P. Pappas and Maia A. Newton (Daniel); cherished grandchildren, Luke and Eric Pappas and David and Marcus Newton; and many dear nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents Harry G. Pappas and Kalliope H. Pappas (nee Pistolas); sister, Helen Thomas and brothers, George H. Pappas and Alexander H. Pappas.

Harry graduated from McDonogh School and the Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania. He will be remembered for his intelligence, warm smile, sense of humor, love of travel, sports and interest in history. He most enjoyed fine wine and food, music and art but above of all, he cherished his family.

Mr. Pappas will lie-in-state at the Greek Orthodox Chapel of Holy Resurrection, 5917 Windsor Mill Rd., Balto., MD 21207, on Thursday, September 12th, from 11 to 11:30 AM, at which time a Funeral Service will begin. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Harry's memory to the Hellenic Heritage Museum of Maryland (HHMM), 25 W. Preston St., Balto., MD 21201.

We were deeply saddened to hear of Harry´s passing. He was a good family man who loved his wife and children. Harry was a successful self made man with strong work ethics. He was devoted to his faith and Greek heritage. May his memory be eternal.
