As I sit here I am still trying to process a year later that I will not see your smiling, generous face. To have the conversation we would always have when you would arrive for your office visit. I had no idea when you left here the last time it would have been our last conversation. God created and gained back an awesome man and what an delighted pleasure to have you assist God in looking over your family and friends. Continue your peaceful journey in Heaven. I truly miss you.

Dear Margie,Joseph, Andrew, Sarah, Susan, & Maggie:

Oh my goodness! This is so hard to believe! Such a young, healthy, wonderful Husband & Father. Life doesn't seem fair when we lose someone who is so young and full of life. Our Faith says, "Trust in the LORD". Unfortunately, for many of us, this is easier said than done!

May it comfort you to know that each of you are in our daily thoughts & prayers. Please call if we can be of any help.

Every time I go into Patapsco , Jays gentle happy spirit will be in my thoughts. We shared a passion for Nature and the peace and beauty of the river gorge. Our prayers will be with you: Margie, Joseph, Andrew, and Sarah, as you journey forward during this time of shock, grief, and loss of your beloved husband and father. May your memories bring you comfort. May his legacy live on forever in your hearts and may the Lord surround you with his loving care to bring healing to your broken hearts-Betty Ann & family

I was truly shocked and saddened to hear about Jay's sudden passing. I worked with him at AVB several years ago and remember him has a kind person; a smart and dedicated leader. Always with a smile. My deepest thoughts and prayers are with the Humm (and AVB) family and friends.

Everyone at the Ballston Sport & Health Club who knew Jay were shocked and saddened by his passing. There has always been a group of men and women who regularly worked out at the same time of the day (Jay was a 2-ady guy, so I got to know him during his morning workout). Personally, I got to know Jay and can unequivocally say he was one of the most genuine, caring and friendly persons I have met. To those he felt comfortable around and got to know, he was always there to say "hello" and check-in on how they were doing. I often kidded him that his jaw muscles were his strongest! But there wasn't a morning that I didn't look for him. As we worked out, Jay and I often shared life stories, and he always spoke warmly of his family and his work. Physically, Jay was a strong man, but those who knew him would say his real strength was in his warmth and his friendly, giving personality. I will miss you, Jay. My prayers go out to his family for strength and love during this difficult and sad time.

I am shocked and deeply saddened by news of Jay's passing. We met at Quest and continued our friendship at Lifetime Fitness. Jay was always a happy, funny, and pleasant person. He also was technically very sharp. My thoughts and prayers to Jay's wife, kids, and family. He spoke well of you all and was a very proud dad.

I am so saddened by Jay's way-too-young passing. In my work with him at AvalonBay he was a good friend as well as a colleague. Always willing to lend a hand, modest about his capabilities, and loyal to his staff, coworkers, and management. Jay's passing will leave a large hole with all who had the pleasure of his friendship My blessings to the family to keep the good memories Tsippora Dingott Rosenberg

Absolutely terrible news, words can't describe how deeply sorry I am for the Humm family. Jay was a great friend of mine for many years from the gym. He was hard working and loved nothing more than his family. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand so please feel free to call on me if there is anything you all need. My deepest condolences go out to you, God bless.
