I will always remember Dr. Howard as being a person who was easy to talk to and that I learned so much from his knowledge that he acquired over his vast career in the field of education. It was a blessing to have meet him and know him as a person. Rest In Peace, Dr. Howard.

My deepest condolences to the Howard family in the passing of Dr. Howard. I worked with him at Area III and in other situations involving Minority Student Achievement. He made great contributions to Fairfax County and he will be missed.

Dr. Howard was a very intelligent, kind, caring and encouraging individual. When I first met him, I liked him and Iris's mother, Bernice. I truly appreciate how Dr. Howard shared with me, My daughter, Michelle, and my granddaughter, Maya on many occasions the important of education. Dr. Howard was not just a person who talks, but a person of action. I admired him deeply and I will truly miss him; my family will miss him too. I give my condolences to all the family and I am here if you need me, even if just to talk.

Dr. Howard was a gem of a person, a very approachable genuine educationist, Prof. / Dean of Ed/ and a efficacious Provost, VPAA Coppin State “College”.
His legacy is unique and inspiring, cannot be overlooked for all days to come. May his soul rest in peace, and God gives courage to his family and friends the strength to bear this un-recoverable loss.
Dr. Howard was a role model, teacher educator, and administrator. His faculty meetings were always—a model presentation and one of them was with various hats. I still can recall very clearly.
Dr. Howard was one of the best communicators, I have seen. He was true to all his practices and activities areas—football coach, teacher educator and one another striking characteristic in him for me was his service as a US Marine. He shared with me stories of his days at the Pentagon, and one of his awards, I use to talk about was a “Pentagon Award” that he used to always display on his VPAA table upfront. I still have his images in my mind and see him on his table as our caring VPAA, so clearly.
I have had many things in common with Dr. Howard, including the Pentagon Award, I also had, and talked with him about it. I learned a lot from him, and we all are much better because what he did at Coppin.
I will miss him but will always remember him.
