Friends may call on Sunday, January 4, 2009 from 2 to 4 P.M. at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., Easton, MD. Graveside services, with military honors and Chaplain Col. A year has gone by and I miss my Dad more now. I guess I was in a state of shock for some time. It happened so fast and I wasn't ready for him to go away.

One of my father's childhood friends appeared at his calling hours at the funeral home in Easton. His word to descibe my father was "experimental" This is one word among many that suit him. His inventions received many patents and his workshops in our various homes were filled with curious machines, including an old satellite tracking computer the size of a small refrigerator. He was also an adventurous guy. As a pilot he flew his B-24 liberator to 40,000 ft. to see what it could do. The day I was born he flew it under the Golden Gate Bridge while waving at an irrate destroyer captain on his bridge. In later years on the shore he took to making beautiful canes from gnarled tree vines. He said God made them and he preserved them. I feel that somewhere now he has started his engines and is flying high towards the stars. I will always miss him.
