James Sapia Obituary

James Joseph Sapia Jr. 70, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2024, in Ocean Pines, MD surrounded by family. He was the first son of James J. Sapia, Sr, and Anna "Betty" Sapia (nee Wrighton).  Jim and his wife of 41 years, Louanne, were devoted to their family and friends, joyfully hosting gatherings, big and small during their time together. Jim never met a stranger and seemed to leave an impression on anyone he'd meet.

Jim's love of the water, which earned him the nickname "Cap'n Jim," began as a young man spending time with his parents in Ocean City where he worked at their hotel, the Monticello, and a variety of their restaurants.

Jim spent 30 years working for the City of Baltimore, enjoyed being a realtor with Century 21 Downtown, and had many adventures after building a real estate investment business that he absolutely loved.

Jim is predeceased by his parents, and is survived by Louanne Trgina Sapia; his devoted children Jamie Lou Sapia and James Joseph Sapia III; dear siblings Ralph (Alyssa) Sapia and Vince Sapia; and scores of loving friends.

A viewing will take place at The Burbage Funeral Home, Berlin, MD 21811, on Sunday, September 22nd, 2024, at 10:00 AM followed by a service at noon. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Please omit flowers. Letters of condolence can be sent to the family via www.burbagefuneralhome.com. Arrangements are in the care of The Burbage Funeral Home.
