Joel and I met only briefly over 23 years ago at Billett Ballroom dance studio in Rochester, NY, for an evening of dancing in which neither of us had come with a partner. My hometown had been near Rochester and he was there from MD. We had a grand time as we were well-matched. We traded contact information and kept in touch by email for quite awhile. I just remember he was an easy friend and a fine gentleman so we traded contact information and kept in touch by email for quite awhile. We lost connection so I tried to contact him recently but that lead me to finding that I had missed his passing long ago. My condolences to all his family. He made a lasting impression even on an Ohioan from years and miles away!

Joel was truly a mensch. We worked with him over many, many years and he watched as our own children grew to adulthood. He will truly be missed. Prayers and hugs to his family.

We met our beloved friend, Joel, through ballroom dancing. He was truly one of a kind. His smile would light up a room. His kindness knew no bounds. There are so many memories of special times with Joel and Paget and our other dancing friends and lots of pictures showing great times and fellowship. He was such a kind and gentle soul and a magnificent ballroom dancer. He truly had a twinkle in his eye and a joy to his steps. We cannot imagine life without him or never getting to see him again. Our deepest sympathies to Paget and his family. He was taken way too soon. He will sorely be missed and will never be forgotten. We have added the photo of the 4 of us the last time we were all together in June 2019. We are grateful for the many wonderful memories and all the happy pictures we have of our times together. We love you and miss you, dear Joel. Love, Sheila & Eric
