John High Obituary

John Wesley High, Jr. (Wes) passed away on Tuesday July 27, 2021, after a brief battle with an aggressive form of cancer. He was 71. Wes was born on March 13, 1950 in Baltimore, MD. He attended Andover High School, where he excelled at baseball and graduated with the Class of 1968. After briefly attending the University of Baltimore, Wes focused on his lifelong career in the retail industry throughout Glen Burnie and Pasadena. Wes thrived on building rapport and connections with his employees and customers, many of which became friends. Wes should be remembered as always putting others first, and often shared his generosity in the form of random gifts for family and friends. He had a love of trips to Ocean City and spending time with family and friends. He was also an avid collector of many things. Wes married Anne (Nancy) Elizabeth Fetcho in the fall of 1973 and had two sons, Ryan Matthew High and Mark Elliott High. In addition to Ryan and Mark, Wes is survived by his daughter-in-law, Annette High, and four beautiful grandchildren: Jordan High, Lindsay High, Abby High, and Alex High. A two-hour viewing and funeral service will be held at Singleton's Funeral Home, 1 2nd Ave, SW at Crain Highway, Glen Burnie, MD 21061 on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 11 am.
