Pop, we miss you already ole' boy. Thanks for being such a loving, caring and inspirational figure in our lives. You instilled so much in all of us. It was truly an honor to sit and listen to you while we discussed daily events, sports, events of World War II and D-Day and other historical happenings. You and Gram were very special and very loving to us all. Words cannot describe your loving demeanor and how much you truly meant to us all. We won't ever forget the talk radio being on and the current events/sports chats we had over sandwiches and chips with Gatorade in the kitchen. We won't forget the countless holidays and moments spent at the house. Thank you very much for everything. I hope you and Gram are enjoying a heavenly warm embrace while listening to Glenn Miller. Thanks to all for the kind sentiments, condolences and prayers. Also, as David has mentioned, a very special thanks to family, friends, neighbors, the VFW, the DAV, the 29th Division Association, General Steve Blum, Joe Balkoski and all of the military personnel who provided such a touching tribute to Pop during these trying times. It was deeply appreciated. 29 LET'S GO.

Pop, you were like a father to me. You were always there and I will never forget that. I will cherish all of the times we spent together. I’m so glad that we were close and were able to share so many special moments throughout life – through good times and bad. Thanks for all of the words of wisdom and for caring so much. It’s an honor to have been your grandson. I could never repay you for everything which you and gram have done to make our lives special and for your generosity and support for the entire family. You never asked for anything in return, you gave so much throughout your entire life. No one can ever take our memories away from us. You have been an inspiration and hero to our family and from people around the world, for what you have done for this country. There will never be another John Polyniak. Words cannot express how much you will be missed. Thanks for all of the support from family, friends, neighbors, the DAV, VFW, 29th division, General Steve Blum and all of the military who honored my grandfather during these difficult times.

My condolences to Mr. Polyniak's family. You probably do not remember me. I was Bernadete Higgins's neice. Many a day I walked past your home, to my aunt's. John and Cleo would be working in the yard, or sitting on the side of the house- always friendly-even to a little kid like me.
Later, I knew Suzanne when she worked in the ER at Harbor.I work in the pharmacy. I know you all were dedicated to both your parents. I will be praying for you all in the days ahead for comfort and to remember those times when you laughed together.

So sorry for your loss. I recall many years ago how you expressed how much you loved him and how proud of him you were. The good side of all of this is that you had the time you had with him and he was not taken years ago. Enjoy the memories and take from it to become a better man yourself.
You and your family are in my prayers. You can choose to celebrate his life, as opposed to mourning your loss. The celebration is always a happier road.
